Sixth: Carbonate and Sulphates

 

1- Sodium Carbonate Production/ Anbar Governorate

Location

  • Limestone: at a distance of (80) km to the north of Rutba City/ Wadi Swab.
  • Sodium chloride: at a distance of (69) km to the west of Rawa City.

Reserve 

  • Limestone reserves are more than (1000) million tons
  • Salt reserves are more than (13) million tons.

Purpose Used in the production of glass, soap, detergents and pulp.

 

2- Sodium Carbonate Production/ Muthanna Governorate

  • Limestone deposits which are located at a distance of (140) km to the southwest of amawah City.
  • Sodium chloride deposits which are located at a distance of (30) km to the southwest of Samawah City.

Reserve 

  • The amount of limestone reserves is more than (50) million tons, category C1.
  • The amount of salt reserves is more than (40) million tons.

Purpose  Used in the production of glass, soap, detergents and pulp.

 

3- Calcium Carbonate/ Anbar Governorate

The deposits of limestone are located at Wadi Ghadaf at a distance of (100) km to the southwest of Ramadi City.

Reserve  The amount of limestone deposits is (124) million tons, categories C1 and C2.

 

Purpose  Used in the industry of paper, paints, drugs, rubber and inks.

 

4- Sodium Sulfate/ Saladin Governorate

  The deposits are located at a distance of (35) km to the northeast of Samarra City.

Reserve  The reserve is estimated to be (12,5) million tons.

Purpose  Used for the production of sodium sulfate which is used in the industry of detergents, paper and other industries.
