The Library is an important division in the Information Department. It contains many scientific data (scientific reports, scientific books, geological maps, M.A. and Ph.D. Theses and scientific magazines). These data represent GEOSURV accomplishments for decades.

Tasks

• Collecting the completed digital data and documenting them on a digital library using (Microsoft Virtual FoxPro) software.
• Documenting the accomplished reports data using (Microsoft Excel) program. The number of documenting reports has reached (3601) reports .All these reports represent the work of GEOSURV members.
• The Library contains about (5600) documented scientific books having their own database.
• It contains digital scientific books documented using (caliber) software. These books were downloaded from the internet and they are about (1460) books in number. This program is designed as an application of digital books management with the capability of connecting the database online.
• It also contains different scales geological, hydrogeological, geophysical, land use and geological hazards maps. These maps are documented and preserved for scientific purposes.
