  1. Performing the regional geological survey of Iraq, scale 1:100000 (1972-1984).
  2. Performing the aero-geophysical survey of Iraq.
  3. Performing the regional geochemical surveys of Iraq.
  4. Performing hydrogeological surveys and studies for different parts of Iraq.
  5. Preparing and printing of different geological maps of Iraq at different scales.
  6. Providing strategic reserves of mineral raw materials like sulphur, phosphate, kaolin clays, bentonite and others.
  7. Establishing the national network for mineral and geological information.
