The Central Laboratories Department performs the following duties:
The Central Laboratories Department is conducts all the tests and analyzes related to the geological works in order to determine the suitability of rocks and Sediments economically as well as to conducting tests on these rocks in order to develop them.
The most important works that the Central Laboratories involved with is:-
1- Performing different chemical analyses for non-organic materials such as tests for rocks, soil, and water
2- Diagnosing Mineral content of rocks, soil and alloys.
3- Diagnosing the Fossils found in the samples.
4- Studying the engineering and physical characteristics of rocks.
5- Mineralogical evaluation of rocks and sediments and develop them for industrial uses through conducting laboratory and entrepreneurship experiments.
In order to implement the steps of this service, an official letter / request from the beneficiary entity to the Director General office, specifying the numbers of samples and tests that carried out. Then sent this official letter / request from the Director General’s office to the Central Laboratories Department with note from Planning and Follow-up Department where calculated cost is paid, including the specific analyses.
The following table shows the types of analyzes available and their prices:
